Will mac book work on a comcast internet network currently hooked up to a pc?

My mom says im special asked:

I am on a pc right now, but I really want a macbook (the tiny one that is only $1099).My computer network and/or internet system is comcast, but I am not sure if the comcast network will work with the macbook, because if it isn’t, I will then know to get a mac network system if the comcast does not work out. Thank you!!

    Yes. It will.
I have a comcast network that is linked to several PC’s
when I booted up my laptop it found my network and after entering my network passwords it connected right away.
I love my macbook and I would highly recommend it. I got the 1299 version with 2 gigs of ram. That would be a better purchase for you if you want the laptop to last very long at all.
the base model you wanted to purchase wont be able to handle the programs that will come out in two to three years. Not to mention its just not that good of a laptop for what you are going to be paying for it.

Yes, as long as it’s a cable modem and just uses ethernet. You can call comcast and ask them these questions though, they’ll be more than happy to give you the absolutely correct answer, as I’m only 99.1% sure you can use the apple on the comcast network. :)

The only problem you might have is they run port security on their connections (in seattle at least), so when you hook up a new computer you have to call them and have them reset your connection. It’s no hassle at all really, but if you switch back and forth too much it could be.
