Why does the iphone need to be on a wifi connection to acess itunes music store?

footballnerd999 asked:

I understand wifi and everything, but there is one thing I don’t get. How come apple made the iphone music store that you have to be on wifi to access it? I know that edge access would be slower, but that can’t really be an excuse. Edge and wifi use the same internet, so why can’t both access the itunes store?

    wireless internet

Data transfer rates to the device itself. On the edge network, the chance of the data stream being interrupted before it can complete is higher, because of the size of file. They don’t want to have to argue with people about lost transfers, and refunds, etc..
