D – mobile telephone switching office. All cell sites put their data down the phone line and connect to the switching office.Think of it as the interconnect to the old Ma Bell telephone wires. Cellular to cellular no problem – don’t need those pesky outdated wires. But cellular to landline I got to interface somehow.
