You also need an ethernet or usb connection between your computer and the router/switch/hub.
It depends upon what type of work you want to do. These all will connect to the Internet but at different speed. DSL connection has the highest speed then comes cable connection and then dial up.

There is a difference between the Internet and Intranet,intranet has restrictions placed on entry only within the Intranet circle and you have to have access permission.Cable is the fastest ,followed by DSL, followed by dial up.All three connect to the internet at different speeds and downloads are also limited by the connection.Cost of the connection varies, check in your area for your options………
yes those are enough just take oud dial up no one use that anymore check verizon they have good deals
