fast internet service
You can in fact split the cable and feed one to the slinbox and the other to the modem. The slingbox has it’s own tuner, so you can change the channels over the web without effecting the tv at home. The caveat is that you are unlikely to be able to watch premium or digital channels that way (if you subscribe to them) because the provider’s box is needed to decode those channels.
