My IPod touch will only connect to the internet through my Linksys wireless-N broadband router if I remove all security when I set up the router, something I would prefer not to do. It will not connect if the security settings are WPA / WPA2 or WEP128. It says “cannot join network” even though I enter the Network Name SSID and the password. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am sorry what does the above answer have to do with anything … anyways I have an Ipod touch and have had this happen to me the only thing that I was able to do myself was to backup and reinstall my firmware this fixed the issue for me.
I hope this helps.
The iPod touch should be able to connect using WPA or WPA2 with PSK (pre-shared key) but you are going to have issues if you are trying to connect with WEP because the iPod will try Shared WEP first then failover to OPEN WEP, but by then you will already be failing authentication on the router.
Make sure that you are close to the wireless router when you try to connect and enter in the password a few times.
If you are still having no luck with WPA/WPA2-PSK, you can add a MAC filter to your router, you’ll have to add the MAC address of the iPod touch and all the computers that you want to connect to the Internet. It won’t stop people from sniffing your traffic or keep hackers off your network, but it would keep normal people from connecting.
