Hello and thank you!
I’m stupid when it comes to this stuff. Really dumb. Seriously.
I signed up wth Hughesnet.com satellite broadband and am trying to hook up with my company’s VPN (satellite broadband is my only choice, other than dial-up). I know it will be slower once in, but the problem is that I can’t even hook up. I keep getting a 721 error. I’ve checked the IP address and it’s correct. I’m plugged directly into the modem. I’ve pinged the VPN IP and it seems to be okay.
Is there something I’m missing? Is there something I need to configure that isn’t obvious (remember, I’m STUPID; almost anything obvious may have escaped my attention or thought process). And yes, I did sign up with their super-spiffy access that’s supposed to work for VPN.
Any ideas? Anyone have any experience with this stuff?
Thanks again.
Okay, so I asked my network administrator about that and he said that it is completely open so I shouldn’t have any problems. His concern is that we’re not pinging it at a high enough rate.
Any ideas on how to get it over 1000ms?

check with your company if they are blocking any outside ip addresses. Also you can try tightVNC or winVNC if they work.
