How do I ad broadband to a second computer using a router/hub?

Jymmy J asked:

I have broadband provided by Comcast and am using an Arris modem and digital voice router. I have connected this to a linksys hub and have connected the hub to both computers. I only have a connection on one computer. Both computers are running Windows 2000.

To get connection on more than one computer you will need a standard router connected to the modem. The voice router would go behind the wired router as one of the computers connections. A modem only gives one IP address so the fist system to connect will get it . A router is capable of 253 addresses using Network Address Translation. If both are to be hard wired, then the routers will be around $29 for 4 port devices and $49-59 for a G series wireless as well as 4 wired ports. I have always had good success with linksys products. Would recommend them over any of the others on the market from past experience.
