I am going to install broadband internet through my cable company and I have a cable modem, will I need a router as well? My laptop does have built in wireless, and I don’t want to hardwire it.

You will need a router in order to enjoy wireless internet. You can save a lot of money depending on what router you buy. There’s really cheap ones (I’ve seen $10 ones) and there’s more expensive ones ($40-$70). Do some research on the router you’re planning to buy. A little bonus is that most routers you can configure a wireless network in order to wirelessly print and send files to other computers! That might be something that you might consider in your purchase. Best of luck!
