Is it at all possible to improve my latency from my end?.ISP is CenturyLink (DSL) average 150ms?

asked:

sometimes im getting 40ms (when bouncing off a cable network), and rarely i have cracked over 400ms…. but most everytime i check out my latency its in the 120ms to 150ms range… please note that im a bit of a newb here.

Why can i hear static on my home phone from CenturyLink?

Every time i make a call or when someone calls me u hear static on the phone. i have no idea what it is. the people i call on the other line can hear it too. i used to have home service with Time Warren cable and it worked fine, but we changed service to Century Link a few days ago and i don’t know what is wrong. i have a new filter that i got when i got it. please help?

My Centurylink dsl speed has been slow for two weeks, what is going on?

As a result of this, I cannot go on Nintendo WFC to play Mario Kart Wii and I can’t watch videos on YouTube or any website that uses Adobe Flash Player for their videos. I still can go on other website, but it takes a long time for the website to load. Plus, at certain times of the day and night, my internet connection is disabled. This last for minutes and it happens everyday. I called the company and they said they are working on it. But, it must be something bigger.

Is anybody else having this problem or what is the cause of it? By the way, I live in Florida.

Can a 2nd computer use the Internet through the 1st using the Verizon Broadband card UM175VW?

I have Centurylink DSL “Embarq” and well I bought a Belkin Wireless G Router and it’s junk?

I’m taking it back asap and wanting to know what’s a good compatible wireless router I’d be satisfied with?
Not that it’s “junk,” sorry for not expanding on my question properly. It just has a lot of conflicts with my ISP. Their support even said that it’s not compatible. I just really need something that’s going to be dependable. I’ll be using it possibly for my ps3 and for my 2 laptop connections. If anything I might use a wired connection for my ps3 to prevent lag issues (If that would help.)
